New Minnesota Law on Cannabinoid Products Takes Effect on July 1

From Minnesota Revisor of Statutes: New law allows cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), to be legally added to food and beverages for sale in Minnesota under certain restrictions.

Under the new law, cannabinoid products which contain more than 0.3 percent of any THC are considered adulterated. In addition, specific labelings are now required for all edible cannabinoid products, including serving size, cannabinoid profile, a list of ingredients, and the statement “Keep this product out of reach of children.” Moreover, the law also sets specific regulations on packaging. All edible cannabinoid products now must be packaged in child-resistant, tamper-evident, and opaque containers. Read the full statute amendment.
