Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program that teaches adults how to recognize signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.
How does a class work?
Adult Mental Health First Aid consists of 2 hours of self-paced content followed by 5.5 hours of instructor-led training. Trained pharmacy instructors lead this course virtually via Zoom. Once you have registered, you will receive an email from the instructor with information on how to enroll on the MHFA website to complete your 2 hours of prework. This prework must be completed prior to your course.
Why should I join?
MPhA is excited to offer this opportunity to our members at no cost. In tumultuous times, mental health is at the forefront of many minds, and this information can be used to help all those around you.
