From Minnesota House of Representatives website, published June 26: An $18.8 billion omnibus health and human services bill that aims to improve the lives of Minnesotans across the state has passed both houses of the Minnesota Legislature. Gov. Tim Walz has signed this into law on June 30th. Provisions in this bill increase the Medicaid cost of dispensing fee from $10.48 to $10.77 and allow for permanent remote MTM allowances. Changes in legislation and the provisions addressing pharmacy needs were made possible with contributions to the Minnesota Political Action Fund and the MPhA Advocacy Fund. Please donate to either of these funds.
Among many provisions, the bill provides MA coverage for treatment, testing and vaccination for COVID-19 as required under the federal American Rescue Plan. MPhA will provide more details about the just-concluded legislative session in our next issue of the Minnesota Pharmacist journal.
