The Minnesota Pharmacists Association has been informed that the Minnesota Commerce Department has released proposed rules on Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) Licensure and Regulation. MPhA worked to pass legislation for fair and transparent practices and regulation of PBMs in 2019 and has been patiently waiting for these rules to be released. The draft rules can be found in the State Register starting on page 137. MPhA encourages ALL pharmacists to review the proposed rules and submit comments electronically directly to the Commerce Department. The electronic comments opened on Aug. 18 and will be open for 30 days, ending on Sept. 17. MPhA will submit comments on the proposed rules. Any MPhA member is encouraged send comments to Sarah Derr at sarahd@mpha.org. Additionally, the Commerce Department will hold a virtual hearing on Monday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT.
