2020 Prescription Drug Prices: Growing Slower, but Not Going Lower: Century Mortar Club Endowed Chair Stephen W. Schondelmeyer, PharmD, MPubAdm, PhD, FAPhA, FNAS, explains that a slowed rate of inflation doesn’t mean that a drug price decreases, but only that the increase observed is not as much as seen previously. Updates to Gender-Affirming Pharmacotherapy: A Summary of Guideline Recommendations: Student Pharmacist Megan Waibel writes, “In light of the recent addition of compendia indications for puberty-suppressing and sex hormone therapies to Micromedex, increased coverage for pharmacotherapy is imminent for persons with gender dysphoria. A review of these therapies is warranted to best serve our patients who may now have means to pursue gender confirmation.”

Minnesota Legislature: Hot Issues for 2020: Although the state’s response to COVID-19 is currently taking up much of the discussion at the state capitol, MPhA staff and volunteers are working hard to ensure that other issues related to pharmacy practice are getting consideration by legislators in the 2020 session.
