Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar has joined Minnesota colleagues Sen. Al Franken and Representatives Collin Peterson, Tim Walz, Erik Paulsen and Rick Nolan as a co-sponsor of S.314/H.R.592, the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act. S.314/H.R.592 allows pharmacists to be reimbursed for clinical services under Medicare Part B in medically underserved areas or areas of medically underserved populations. The legislation was introduced in January of this year and currently has 31 supporters in the Senate and 217 supporters in the House. MPhA thanks Sen. Klobuchar and all supporting members of the Minnesota delegation for their confidence in pharmacists’ value to our health care system and for their support of this legislation.
