Join your colleagues for the next MPhA Virtual Coffee Break Webinar on Minnesota’s ePrescribing and ePrior Authorization activities on July 15, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Laura Topor from Granada Health, will discuss the current status of ePrescribing in Minnesota, review applicable legislative and regulatory activities, describe the data exchange flows and introduce electronic Prior Authorization (ePA). By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
  1. Appraise Minnesota’s ePrescribing landscape,
  2. Discuss the related legislative requirements, and
  3. Identify opportunities to use ePrescribing to improve their workflow.

The program is part of the “3-3” Virtual Coffee Break series MPhA has launched on the third day of the week during the third week of the month to keep pharmacists, student pharmacists and pharmacy technicians current on cutting-edge topics presented by expert colleagues. The Virtual Coffee Break has a limited number of spaces — so sign up right away to ensure your spot. The cost is $10 for members, and $25 for non-members. Student pharmacists and residents are provided a complimentary registration.

Speaker: Laura Topor

Laura ToporLaura Topor has over 20 years of experience in pharmacy benefits management, payer and provider operations, sales and marketing, regulatory compliance, patient safety, product development, process improvement, strategic planning and program management. Ms. Topor is President of Granada Health, a Minnesota-based consulting firm. She has worked with RxEOB, Argus Health Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Allina Hospitals and Clinics, Medica, HealthPartners, and Diversified Pharmaceutical Services (now Express Scripts). She has been an active member of NCPDP for over 18 years. At NCPDP, Ms. Topor has served as a member of the Board of Trustees, Standardization Co-Chair, WG3 and WG 11 Co-Chair, Structured and Codified Sig Task Group Leader and on numerous committees and task groups. She is a member of the AMCP (Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy) and served on its HIT Advisory Council. Ms. Topor has participated in many of Minnesota’s e-health workgroups, formed to support Minnesota’s health reform initiatives.

Continuing Education:

This presentation is being submitted to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy for Continuing Education credit approval (one hour).

To receive Board of Pharmacy credits for this program the following must be completed:

  • Full participation/completion of webinar either during the live program or the archived presentation

  • Completion of survey post webinar acknowledging participation

Board of Pharmacy credit processing takes place on the 15th of each month.

The Minnesota Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
