- Review the framework for Workplace Mental Health & Well-Being created by the U.S. Surgeon General
- Practice pitching an organizational frame, empowering you to bring this framework to a leader in your organization for integration
- Share which action steps you plan to implement immediately (for yourself, your team, your organization)
Michele Rae, RPh, NBC-HWC, Transformational Coach at The Center Within providing holistic mindfulness-based coaching and courses and author of "Living from the Center Within" will be presenting on Well-Being for the Mind-Body-Heart. Well-being is not the opposite of being sick, it is tending to the whole person by making positive empowered healthy choices. We will share research, stories, and practices on mindfulness, lifestyle medicine, resilience, balance, and stress reduction. All will share practical tips on the application of these principles of well-being for ourselves, patients, and communities.
- Define wellbeing and various aspects of health
- Review the Mind-Body-Heart connection
- Discuss stress triggers and the stress response
- Explore mindfulness and mindfulness practices
- Review the tenants of lifestyle medicine
- Practice emotional, social, and conversational intelligence
Raquel Rodriguez, Director of Experiential Education at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy will lead us in a mindfulness, gratitude, and movement exercise allowing us to intentionally connect with our 5 senses.
Participants will be invited to get outside (weather permitting) for a walk on the trail around White Bear Lake. Registration Open to anyone in the pharmacy community. Please note: To facilitate an environment in support of meaningful connections, the group size will be limited to 50 people. Registration will be first come, first serve. Pharmacists: $45 Pharmacy Technicians: $35 Pharmacy Students: $35 *please note, students who are non MPhA members will be charged $45 at checkout but can expect a $10 refund.
