Description:
The speaker will describe his experiences transitioning from a clinical pharmacist to a medical science liaison. He will discuss the medical science liaison role as well as other roles for pharmacists within the pharmaceutical industry, and will outline pathways a pharmacist or student pharmacist can take to pursue such opportunities.
Learning Objectives:
After participating in the program, attendees will be able to:
- Explain the transition from a clinical pharmacist to a medical science liaison.
- Describe the medical science liaison role.
- Discuss the pathways a pharmacist or student pharmacist has available to them in the industry.

Completed PharmD in 2009 at University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. Completed PGY1 Residency in ambulatory care at SMDC (now Essentia Health) through University of Minnesota's Ambulatory Care Residency Program. Spent 2 years as faculty at Concordia University Wisconsin with practice in preventive cardiology clinic, followed by 6 years as MTM pharmacist at Park Nicollet, before transitioning to a medical science liaison for Novo Nordisk.

The cost is $25 for non-members. MPhA pharmacist members, pharmacy technician members and student members may attend at no cost.
