Description:
This lecture-based presentation will present a general overview of the Birth-18 years childhood vaccine schedules including the catch-up schedule. The Minnesota Immunization Information Connection will also be reviewed and both will be applied to some
patient cases. Best practices and tips for vaccinating younger children will be reviewed.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, Pharmacists will be able to:
- Evaluate a Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC) report.
- Apply the childhood vaccine schedule to patient cases.
- Describe common techniques to administer vaccines to children.

Dr. Ann Philbrick is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care and Health Systems (College of Pharmacy) and the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (Medical School). She
graduated with a doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and went on to complete a PGY1 And PGY2 residency in Ambulatory Care at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She currently practices at
Bethesda Family Medicine Clinic, the longitudinal clinic site of the University of Minnesota Family Medicine Residency Program. Her teaching, research, and patient care activities focus on the role of a pharmacist in this interprofessional
setting, vaccine preventable diseases and medical cannabis.

The cost is $25 for non-members. MPhA pharmacist members, pharmacy technician members and student members may attend at no cost.
Continuing Education:
This presentation is being submitted to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy for Continuing Education credit approval (one hour).
To receive Board of Pharmacy credits for this program, the following must be completed:
Accreditation
 The Minnesota Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a
provider of continuing education. Successful completion of this knowledge-based program qualifies for a maximum of 4.5 contact hours for Pharmacists and 4.5 contact hours for technicians.
Participants must sign in, attend each session in its entirety and complete a program evaluation form to receive credit.
To Earn CE Credit:
Statements of Credit will not be issued; instead the MPhA will upload your CE electronically through the CPE Monitor System within 60 days from the event. In order to upload the CE, you will need to provide
MPhA your NABP e-profile ID and birthdate MMDD.
All CE will be available for one year following the event.
