Minnesota Medication Repository Program

Medication repositories can reduce medication waste while additionally helping patients receive medications they otherwise couldn’t afford. This presentation will review what medication repositories are, and what the journey to implementing one for the state of Minnesota has been.
Rowan Mahon
Founder & CEO MMRP
Rowan Mahon is the founder of the Minnesota Medication Repository Program (MMRP). She is also a recent Master's of Public Health, and Master's of Health Informatics graduate from the University of Minnesota (2019) and a current fourth year pharmacy student who is set to graduate in May 2020. As a student, she led the charge to change state laws to allow for a medication repository program to exist within Minnesota. It took two legislative sessions but language passed in the 2019 session and since then she has created the MMRP and is in the process of implementation.
Registration Fees:
The cost is $25 for non-members. MPhA pharmacist members, pharmacy technician members and student members may attend at no cost.
Continuing Education:
This presentation is being submitted to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy for Continuing Education credit approval (one hour).
To receive Board of Pharmacy credits for this program, the following must be completed:
Board of Pharmacy credit processing takes place on the 15th of each month.
