Medical Cannabis: What it Means to Minnesota
Description
We will discuss the history of cannabis, including how it became a Schedule 1 controlled substance, the pharmacology of cannabis and an overview and update on the Minnesota Medical Cannabis Program. The talk will also look at the unique role pharmacists plays in the Minnesota Program.
Objectives
- Review the history of cannabis.
- Discuss the endocannabinoid system
- Understand the pharmacology of cannabis.
- Provide an overview of the Minnesota Medical Cannabis Program.
- Understand the role of the pharmacist in the Minnesota Medical Cannabis Program.

Nathan Long
Nathan Long has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for the past 30 years with hospital, retail and medical cannabis experience. He is currently a pharmacist at LeafLine Labs. He was instrumental in opening the St. Cloud Care Center. Nate enjoys traveling, seeing his family, and outdoor activities.
